SEALYHAM TERRIER

History - The Sealyham terrier was developed in Wales in the 19th century to be a bold, tenacious rat and badger hunter.

Temperament - The independent, funloving Sealyham makes and excellent urban companion. Although comfortable with gentle children over eight years old, they won’t tolerate rough handling.  They are cautious with strangers.  They can be aggressive with other animals if not socialized early and require early obedience training with owners who are able to maintain dominance.

Upkeep - Sealyhams should be brushed twice a week and trimmed every three months.  They need brisk daily walks and occasional romps in secured areas.

Size - height 10 inches, weight 22-24 pounds.
