History - Developed in the 19th century by crossing an English bulldog with a white English terrier, the Boston terrier was the first American-bred dog.

Temperament - The Boston terrier is known as the “Little American gentleman” because of its classic tuxedo attire and its sweet, lovable, happy, and outgoing personality. These dogs are easy to train and love everybody, including children and other animals. Often happy to simply lie by its owner’s side with a chew toy, the Boston can adapt to city, suburban, or country life.

Upkeep - Sheds minimally and requires only occasional brushing and bathing. This dog’s exercise needs are minimal.

Size - height 15-17 inches, weight 10-25 pounds.
